Discontinued parts for BOM

Hi Gurus,

I have one requirement for discontinued material for BOM. please go through below scenario and suggest any solution for it.

Scenario :

Finish goods material code : A100

BOM for FG : B100

: C100

Now for material C100 need to be replaced by D100 for particular date suppose date of tomorrow.

So i have maintained material D100 in the material master data MRP 4 view with date of tomorrow.

Now client requirement is that, they want only procurement requirement to be generated for the material D100, And when the run transaction MFBF the want old material C100 in the BOM.

So how to define this in the system that material D100 is only for the procurement not for the production BOM. Currently material D100 showing in both place (procurement and production)

Please suggest me any solution.

one way is to have and alternative bom and enter the production version with this bom in the md61 schedule line. this way planning of PIR will happen with a different BOM

Hello Ashish,

Keep Discontinued Indicator 1 , for the material C. Eff Out : Tentaive Date from which you want to plan this as alternative ,

in MRP4 View of the material.

OR

Use alternative BOM for two different materials with valid dates.
