Fixed BIN issue

Hi Guys

whether maintaining a fixed bin in the material master puts a hard block on storing that material

Or

if it is still possible to put the material in a different bin.

Pls help

Hi,

You are working with Fixed BIn strategy & you have defined appropriate Storage Bins in material Master WM2 tab.

Now for a specific case you do not want to move the stock in the Bin mentioned but you want to move to some other Bin.

Well , you can create a special mvt type Indicator & specify it at the time of revelavnt IM posting this can skip the fixed Bin.

Hi,

Specifying a Fixed bin in the material master will propose only that bin when you create a Transfer Order for doing putaway. But you can always keep the material in another bin. You need to manually enter the required bin in such a case while creating the Transfer Order.

Hi

It can be moved to another bin (I have just tested it)

I had one bin in the material master but moved it to another inthe same st type

However it does depend on your st type/st section strategies

What I mean is you can only move it to another bin that fits in with where it is allowed to go depending on indicatore and bin types etc
