Hello,
I have system where coding mask is defined and project definition is created accordingly. However need to restrict to the same. Currently allows to change the project definition.
ex. Coding mask: NE /00000.00.0.0 Prject definition created as NE/02252 and am able to change to XNE/02252 and need to restrict it.
Please suggest.
Best Regards
RMK
Hi
Restriction for change in Project Definition can be controlled through status management

hi RMK,
You can achieve this by authorsiton control. Use authorsiton object - C_PRPS_VNR P, field - PS_ACTVT and remove authorisation for activity type - 45(Change project number), user shall not be able to change project defination.

hi,
Go to Transaction Code OPSK.
Ensure that there is Tick for field EDIT.
This will determine that only coded project numbers may be used within the Project System.
Thanks,

Hi RMK,
If you want only coded project numbers to be allowed, you can customise that by ticking the 2nd checkbox on SPRO > PS > Structures > OperativeStructures > WBS > Project coding masking > Define Special Characters for projects.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
