Has anyone switched from using IBM's Java stack to SAP's JDK (SAP JVM 4)? Issues or challenges?

If you have detailed questions or comments, ping me via my SCN business card vector.

Thanks.

Jim

Did it and was a little bit afraid about it, but no problems at all.

A bit confusing is that the switch tool asks for the update of the diagnostics agent too, didn't find any documentation about the effects if you run two different engines.

Confusing also the parameter documentation for the sapjvm, I was always looking at snote 1522200 and wondering when it would get unlocked. Then I found out there is snote 1603093 too. But this is older than the last switch tool, so there are still different parameters.

Kind regards,

Gerd

Hello Jim,

We've been discussing a problem with GRC Access Control 5.3 and SAP JVM 4: http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2014108&start=15&tstart=0

SAP has released a new patch to correct the issue : [1677139|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1677139]

Cheers,

Diego.

Additional question:

I'm planing the upgrade from solution manager 7.01 to 7.1, as far as i know 7.1 systems run with sapjvm.

So is the switch included in the upgrade? Or should I use the switch tool during the upgrade process (or before)?

Thx,

Gerd
