Hello Friends,
We are planning to setup DR(Diaster Recovery) server with Linux / SAP EHP5 / Oracle 11.2 platform.
Can you Please guide me the which method is better to perform minimal downtime to run Business operations .
1. Data guard
2. Log-shipping
Can you please mention difference between two methods and if you have documents please share with me.
Thanks & Regards,
Senthil
Hello Kumar,
If you have money to invest, use Data guard. You will have advanced options compared with log shipping.
I have customers using Oracle Standby Database implemented with SAP brarchive, working properly and safety so far. This solution are implemented in datacenter with 15km distance, database Oracle 11g with 2.4TB size.
Production system 100% uptime. Our offline backup is created from our standby database.
Please, see below paper

Hope it help you.
