Dear experts...
I am learning BO. Could you all tell me how much knowledge of SQL is necessary and helpful to get a good grasp in SAP BO?
Also, if you could tell me where exactly is the use of this language.

Hi,
it depends what role you play in the development cycle or end-usage.
the whole point of BO reporting is to 'shield' the end user so that never have to know any SQL. i.e. make it simple for the business user to manipulate objects into a report.
if however you are developing and implementing the semantic layer, then you have to be advanced, almost of DB admin standard.
SQL is a query language. another type is MDX, for olap sources.
