Hi,
We have a requirement from our client to have alphanumeric number ranges for Excise invoice. We tried to assign for the object J_1ISERGRP..but system is not allowing alphanumeric sequence.
Kindly Help.

This is can not be achieve through standard configuration.
You might need to use userexit for this.

Leave alone in SAP, I dont think, excise authorities will accept this proposal. Please ensure, before implementing this requirement, client has got approval from their Central Excise Range Office. Still if you want to make a try, then try with J_1I7_USEREXIT_EXCISE_BEF_SAVE

Many thanks for your inputs. I could as well see your comments for the same nature of issue.
Now my client says that-This is the requirement from their excise dept as they have multiple deports and they want to create the number ranges based depot identification followed by the number range. they also say that their competitors are also following the same methodology as it is easy for the customers to track the invoices easily.
I will clarify before sharing the details with the client but if you have any more inputs on this..Kindly share.
