Hello Experts

I am having trouble installaint ECC 6.0 on windows server 2008 with MS SQL. I was half way through the installation and encountered an error. Hence i am trying a fresh installation however I get an error message " Cannot determine parameter SAPGLOBALHOST from default profile " . I have deleted registry entries for the previous installations, yet I am unable to proceed. Please help . Have cheked the forum bue haven found any inputs other than http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1040931. This has not been of much help.

hi,

Can you please check your Default.pfl file including below parameter

SAPGLOBALHOST =<Host name of server>

Also this can be FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name ) issue , check actual host name of server and specify the same in profile file.

Hi,

I would adivse you to perform a clean "Uninstallation" and rerun the installation again.

Thanks,

Hi Nicholas,

Is there no work around for this?

Hi,

You can try to add SAPGLOBALHOST = "YourHostName" in default profile where the error message complains.

However, i would advise you to perform a clean uninstallation before starting a new installation, which caused by error that stop you from proceeding.
