configuration of JCO destination in context to BI-modeller

Former Member

Hello,

please advise me at following problem :

System : NW 7.0 AS JAVA, AS ABAP at same host

Task : Implementing JCO destination in context to setup of BI - integrated modeller

inside Web Dynpro Administrator ( ( check of SLD connection successfull ) :

ex. setup JCO destination : BI_Metadataa --> Configuration is accepted --> green light

b) Test of it fails with error messagen jco.JCO$Exception (102 ) RFC error communcation Connect to message server host

failed ...Group Public not found

I checked with guiidelines of :

http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/TroubleshootingSAPJavaConnector%28JCo%29 // case 3

means I checked existence of group "public" at Backend ( = AS ABAP ) as well as on message server - they are existing

How should I proceed ?

Oskar

I replaced "SAPLogonTicketKeypair" - was not

valid at timeframe.

Now Netweaver Administratror, deploy & change does not tell any error

as well as log. And "test" and "ping" of all four JCO destinastion

necessary for Bi integrated modeller are error free.

Anyway at

http:// / Irj /portal

doesn´t show a menue for Bi integrated modeller.

Was it right to put into domain name "."

while executing Netweaver Administrator,

Deploy & change ????

Please advise me

I must admit : Deploy wizard asks " ....specifiy full domain name of the application server ... without host

name....."

Because I have no domain ( its an IDES one host system with AS JAVA and AS ABAP ) what is correct

inpurt here ? Should I create an DNS alias ?

Nirmal,

thanks for your answer . There was indeed a positive change.

4 JCO destinations BI_Metadata, BI_Modelldata,WD_ALV_Metadata_DEST

and WD_ALV_Modelldata_Dest are created successfully

Now the following appears ( inside administrator, WebDynpro ) :

A ping to all four destinations is done successfully.

A "test" is successfull to BI_Metadata and to ALV_Metadata_Dest.

But "test" with BI_Modelldata and ALV_Modelldata fails with message

jco. JCO$Exception (103 ) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_Failure : unable to interpret

SSO ticket received.

But SSO ticket was defined by me at default template as recommended by

wizzard

login/create_sso2_ticket=2

login/accept_sso2_ticket=1

I have an additional question which could be important

At Deploy wizzard there is asked as Input for starting

wizzard fully quallifed Domain name

If I make input :

serv1.

this should be enough ?

My system is a AS JAVA and AS ABAP at

one host with no domain.

Please advise me

Oskar

Nirmal,

thanks for your answer.

I was there in < host > : < port > / irj/ portal but no tab which

you mentioned.

As consequence I went back to Web Dynpro Administrator

and tested that four JCo destination necessary for BI Modeller

ex BI_Metadate etc.

I detected inspite of error free running Deploy Wizard of BI Java

that four JCO destinations "are not working" and even there is a green

light behind destination

error message of JCO test is :

com.samp.nw.JCO$Exception (102 ) RFC_error_communication ..connect to message server host failed ..

... connect _pm Type B MS host group Public not found ...

Is problem caused by Group "Public" ?

Please advice ...

Hi,

Try creating a new logon group and assign your instances in that logon group.

Now mention this new logon group in the JCo and check.

Hello Bilgen,

first thanks for your advise.

I got my system running about 1 hr before your email

doing exactly what you described. Setting of login/sso

etc. and restart of server allowed to get wiizzard, Deployment

of BI Java running. RFC , jco destinations for BI integrated modeller

etc. are properly set - no error reportet while running wizzard,

deployment BI Java

I have a question - may be you can help me.

I want to use BI integrated modeller. If I put

in into Browser : http: // < serv > : < port > /irj

I get many portal menues but not what I need

menue of "Bi integrated modeller"

Do I still have to setup some other things - additional

to BI deployment with wizzard

Please advise me

Regards,

Oskar

Hi,

Login into BI portal with http: // < serv > : < port > /irj/portal and then you can see a tab called Business Intelligence. Now select Business planning and then you can find Planning modelar.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I have already red note "Setting up BEX WEB" some

days ago - but that doesn´t help in my case.

I have not netweaver 2004s system I have NW 7.0 and the

only problem is to setup correctly sso ticket so that I fullfill

prerequisite for starting : Wizard, "deploy and change", BI

One prerequisite for starting : Wizzard , Deploy and change, BI is

SSO ticket

as mentioned by SAP Note 983156 - BI configuration w. Template Installer.

excerpt :

To allow SSO for the AS-ABAP (BI) system, the following profile parameters

in the "default" profile have to been set:

login/create_sso2_ticket=2

login/accept_sso2_ticket=1

Procedure:

Login to AS-ABAP -> Start TA /rz10 -> Menue: Utilities -> Import profiles

-> Of all active servers

Profile: -> Select: Default -> Mark: Extended Maintenance -> Change

Add the both parameter

-> Save and Activate the profile -> Restart the system

If I add parameters to profile Default.xxx as mentioned above with rz10

then I see online parameter added to Default. But checking it directly with

an editor at location there is no change. After restart of server

and trying to start wizzard "Deploy and change" same complain , means

missing tickets..

I have seen at someother notes with subject "SSO" that they do

setup of RFC connection and exchange of certificates which are not

mentioned in note 983156 ( = prerequisites for starting Wiizard ). What is now necessary

at NW 7.0 ? Put in of parameter login ...into default.xx and restart of server or additional things ?

Oskar

Hi Oskar,

First, NetWeaver 2004s = NetWeaver 7.0 (just SAP's name change)

Secondly, can you please follow the steps below to add the profile parameters on BW ABAP System:

1. Start Transaction RZ10

2. Execute Utilities > Import profiles > of active servers menu step

3. Select the Instance Profile from Profiles and select Extended maintenance and press change

4. There, select menu step Parameter > Create or just press F5

5. Put the parameter login/create_sso2_ticket in the Parameter field and 2 in the parameter value field.

6. Press "Copy"

7. Then turn back

8. Do the steps 4,5,6,7 for the login/accept_sso2_ticket parameter but keep in mind to set the value to 1

9. Then Press the "Copy" in the Parameter list again which will take you to the RZ10 main screen

10. There, click the Save button and when it asks you to activate the profile, click Yes. If any "inconsistent profile parameters found" like popup displayed just ignore it.

11. Restart your BW System

Know check that the profile parameters are active with the following method.

1. Start transaction SE38

2. Execute report RSUSR003 (Press F8 2 times)

There you'll see the values for the parameters.

My requirement is to set up four JCO destinations BI.... required for application " Bi Iintegrated

Planning"

I try2 ways

a) within Webdynpro Administrator I try to do establish JCO destinations

required four BI integrated modeller which ends with error message JCO exception as described

b) configuration wizzard of NWA ( Deploy and Change, configuratiojn task, BI Java )

here the configuration stops because of problem with SSO tickets. I set the parameters

login/create_sso.. and login/accept_sso.. in default profile of AS ABAP (sap note 983156 )

but when I repeat configuration wizzard of NWA it stll complains that SSO tickets are not possible

and parameters should be set as I have done. I also detected that this parameters aren´t there

after restart of server and those parameters are not in the available set for parameters for default

profile .... ?

Please advise me

Hi,

Please follow the instructions in the SAP Note Number: 917950 "SAP NetWeaver 2004s: Setting Up BEx Web"

Hi Oskar,

Try to configure SSO between your BW java stack and BW ABAP system.

Once this is configured create the JCo using the ticket authentication method and it will work fine for you.

Make sure that the "PUBLIC" logon group is active in your backend system.

Hi

Are you using the TEmplate Installer via NWA?
