Punch-out catalog setting-up - IP details

Hi SRM Gurus,

While setting up a punch-out catalogue in our test server, the supplier asked for the IP address of our test server. As per them, this was required to allow our server to access their catalog.

After we provided them with the IP details, we are able to access the catalog now. But I want to know whether this is actually a part of punch-out catalog set-up as they might require the IP details of our P server once we actually set up the catalog in P system.

Also, whether this is the IP details or some link which we actually need to give to the supplier which actually enable us to access their catalog?

Your expert help is required on this matter.

Ajay,

When shopper accesses punch-out catalog from SRM, SRM launches the supplier URL. Typically suppliers control access to the catalog/customize content based on UserID/Password parameters in the catalog call structure.

It is also possible that the supplier you are working with has restrictions on who can reach their catalog and require your SRM server IP address to allow access to their catalog site. This appears to be the case with your supplier. It is possible the supplier's catalog application is hosted inside their firewall and they need your SRM IP address pass through Firewall to access the application.

The challenge for you with this approach is you need to provide the IP addresses of all your SRM servers (Dev, QA, and Production).
