Handling Units are released once a PGI or PGR is done?

Hello Gurus,

would you please let me know if I have handling units assigned to an inbound delivery oroutbound delivery, once I post the goods receipt or the goods issue, this handling unit numbers should be released from this documents, I mean, this HUs numbers should be un-assigned to this documents?

Is there a process after the PGR or PGI that should un-assign this Handling Units from the SAP documents?

Thanks

Once you receipt from inbound an outbound delivery PGI the handling units will get Un- assigned status.Except customer deliveries

once you do pgi the handling units will be 01 status assigned to 01 status I.e outbound delivery.

You can see the status HU03 un assigned once you do goods receipt and post goods issue. You can see in object filed last entry of the delivery number but you can move the handling unit one place to another place.

Thanks very much for the information.

The handling units I am worrking with, are not getting un-assigned after a PostGoodsIssue or PostGoodsReceipt. I checked HUMO transaction and remain assigned to the SAP document. Would you please let me know if there is something in configuration I could be missing, or some background job that should be running?

Thanks

Are you using any WM process ?then check in LS26 any transfer orders are open,Some times after PGR transfer orders will get open as per WM configuration.

If any transfer orders open the confirm the transfer order through LT12 transaction.

Check your handling status once PGR or PGI waht is the status in HU03 .It should be '12' un assigned status.

Thanks very much for this additional information.

I checked my handling units and all are in status 12. But there are handling units in the system from 2008.

I ran the program RHU_AR_ARCHIVABILITY_CHECK and the result was that for all this HU from 2008, the reason they cannot be archived is the next:

Reason 01 : Movement status of the HU does not allow for archiving.

Reason 04: Delivery document not archived.

Do you have any clue of what should I check regarding reason 01?

Thanks

Check the HU history last movement of the delivery is it outbound delivery (Customer sales order) and handling status is 'other than 12 then you can not archived as these handling units already despatched.

If you are not able to archive outbound delivery then check delivery following documents.I.e billing document and shipment document.First you need to archive follow on documents then system will allow you delivery document.

Thanks Sridhar, one other thing, can you please confirm to me that if it is a requisite to have the SAP document to which the Handling Unit is assiged, such as inbound delivery or outbound delivery, archived, so the Handling Unit get "released" and the system could consider it for archiving too? I mean, the document to which the HU is assiged needs to be archived before the Handlin Unit gets archived?

Maybe this is the reason why this HUs are not getting archived...

Thanks in advance

Yes ,You are right.

If the delivery is archived then the handling unit must be release to un assigned status or it should be archived status.

Any open delivery like TO confirmed and pending for PGI or Pending for PGR you can not archive the document.
