multilevel categorisation

Hi, when a user selects a 3rd category in the Subject or Reason category field for a service request, category 1 and 2 automatically get filled in, but an error message in the top right corner displays that "Make an entry in Category 1" and "Make an entry in Category 2". Is there a way to validate this?

are you trying to raise service request from SAP solution manager? or any software is used?

No not in Solman, am just creating a normal service request in the CRQ environment.

Hi any ideas on how i can solve this problem please? where can i make a validation for the subject and reason categorizations?
