Context parameter dbHome must be a valid ORACLE_HOME directory

Hello,

I'm doing an IMPORT of SAP R/3 Enterprise 47x110 in oracle 11.2 in Linux RedHat 5.7 with option R3LOAD.

The database was exported from oracle 10.2 in same SAP and LINUX version.

The CI instance is finish

In DB instance in phase "Create Oracle Database" I get this error:

ERROR 2012-02-17 14:24:33

CJS-00030 Assertion failed: Component OraDbBuild: Context parameter dbHome must be a valid ORACLE_HOME directory.

I just verified that I have ORACLE_HOME in environment variables like other that are in installation guide.

I'm doing the IMPORT with root.

Can you help me please?

Hi,

Switch to user ora<SID> and check if the variable ORACLE_HOME is set.

Also please check ora<SID> user ulimit settings.

Hi,

Thanks, but that note is for Windows and I see that in my control.xml I have target (tGlobalDbParameters.dbHome

I see from old printscreens that after this phase SAPinst stop and ask to install the database. I try to run the DB instance

installation with option "System Copy / Oracle backup/restore" if it stop in the same phase but SAPinst pass this with ok and in the next phase it decompress the database CD and after that it stop to ask to install the databse.

So, why with option "System Copy / Migration Using Reload for Non-MCOD Systems (R3load-Based)" it stop with this error?

Best regards

Hi Venkata S Pagolu,

Yes, the procedure in that thread is same, it's an export/import in oracle and the solution is to copied init<sid>.ora from source system to target system.

Do you think this could solve my issue?

In this phase the oracle software wasn't installed yet, only in the next phase, and also I don't have the target path created to the init<sid>.ora.

Best regards

Hi,

Please add the environment variable dbms_type and DBMS_TYPE in:

1) /oracle/SID/.dbenv_<HOSTNAME>.csh

2) Console of root user before execute ./sapinst.

Value is ORA.

The problem is the option that I choose to IMPORT, I use "System Copy / Migration Using Reload for Non-MCOD Systems (R3load-Based)" and this option is to IMPORT in an existing database and not to create a new database and a new SAP instance.

I have to use the option "Standard System Copy / Migration (R3load-Based)" but I have to change the package.xml like it say in note "1499877 - Oracle 11.2 for R/3 Enterprise 4.7 Ext. Set 1.10", after that, SAPinst run without any error.

Thanks you all for your help.
