Customizing MSS Add on Launchpad EMPLOYEE_MENU

Dear All,

I am working on MSS EHP5. I am able to see all menu options in MSS Addn=on role Home Page and done some emplyee related activities behalf of employee. All works fine.

Now i am trying to hide some menu options like Record working time and Clock-in/out corrects in MSS Launch pad which will display in Home page of MSS Add on role.

For this i have done changes in EMPLOYEE_MENU launch pad using T-code LPD_CUST. At this point it's created one Workbench TP. After this i am not able to see any menu options in MSS Addon Home page.

Plz provide inputs if i missed any thing.

can you raise a OSS to sap for this, cause your config i tried works for me.! i dont jnow whats wrong, its hard to see without actual details

can you correct me if i missed any step aprat from this

=> In portal i have MSS Addon 1.0 role . In this i have not done any changes

=> ECC side in Role MSS, Instance EMPLOYEE_MENU, i have done changes that some services i moved to Inactive folder which i dont want disply. These changes i have done in standard itself .

=> After that i ahve selected the top folder "Employee Navigation Menu" and done Tranposrt, it's created workbench TP also.

=> After doing this menu disappears in MSS role.

Is it anything need to be done portal end in MSS Addon 1.0 Role

i would recommend you to create new role and then verify ie to Z one, instead of modifying standard, your steps are correct,

delete cache and verify

Hello,

May be you should try redoing this.Modifying the MSS/EMPLOYEE_MENU would have created custom version of this launchpad in your system.

First Delete the custom version in transaction lpd_cust.

Original SAP version survives.

Test and check if application list is now displayed as original.

Now try modifying the launchpad again by hiding applications that you do not need. Again custom version gets created and it should work now.

I tried to delete that custom version. But not able to delete entire folder. I am able to delete all services under that folder.

And even though i tried to put it back to original and tried to test the same. But it's not showing the menu.

In order to delete you have to be on first screen of lpd_cust.

There is a delete button next to MSS EMPLOYEE_MENU entry.

On deletion it will delete your custom version however SAP standard version will still be there.

Then you can test the application.

If it works, try to change individual entries again creating a new custom version.

When i try to delete that in LPD_CUST, it's asking for package. Then i have selected my Z package and click on continue.

It's giving message like "SAP object DOCT cannot be assigned to package Z " .

Hi Siddharth,

I am doing in EMPLOYEE_MENU only, In this launch pad it's having below things

Profile Applications

Profile Applications of Behalf of employee

Time Management of Behalf of employee

Employee Processes of Behalf of employee

Travel and Expenses of Behalf of employee

In above list i want hide Employee Processes of Behalf of employee completely and some of the service in Time Management and Travel and Expenses.

I have moved those things to under Inactive Applications, it's created workbench TP also. After this it's not showing any menu under that employee Photo in MSS add on role Home Page.

Hi Shnakar,

I hope the UI you are controlling is part of the Web Dynpro ABAP , why don't you try with Personlaization option?

Since you are saying the MENU option got missed, you could try resetting iView that might come back as standard again...

Hi Naveen,

Personalization can't be done in portal end. since i am using EHP5 MSS ADD on 1.0 services. All are Webdynpro ABAP applications.

If you read my first post in this thread you can get more details of issue which i am facing.

I am doing changes in T-code LPD_CUST, MSS launchpad menu EMPLOYEE_MENU.

you mean you cant see those links now after deactivating?

it should work , if one from LPD_CUST

Please attach a screenshot here on what is the error again

Hi Siddharth,

After doing deactivation of few services in EMPLOYEE_MENU launch pad , the entire menu it self disappears.

Here i am not able to attach the screen shot. Plz let me know to attach screen shot here.
