Bucket resource or mix resource for SNP planning?

Hi Experts,

I have SNP planning and PPDS planning separately. Same resource is not used for both PPDS and SNP planning. Hence I am creating resources exclusively for SNP planning. Again, these resources and the respective production versions are not defined in ECC. I am creating the resource and the PPM in APO.

The query is can I create 'bucket resource' for SNP planning, define the bucket capacity in qty, consumption in quantity and carry out the SNP planning for that? Or do I have to necessarily create mix (single/multiple) resources for SNP planning.

Below are few pre reads that I covered.

Hi,

A bucket resource is enough for SNP planning.

Capacity leveling will consider SNP bucket capacity only.

Hi Manotosh,

If you are very sure that the same SNP resource would not be used for PPDS in any way, then bucket resource can be used for SNP. That's why it is there in APO. Use the SNP resource in the SNP PPM, and you can carry out the SNP planning.

If there is any chance that PPDS would be linked to SNP using the same resource, then you need to use mixed resource.

You have already gone through the SAP help, so you know how it would be used.

Thanks - Pawan
