Hi
A java only PI stack also known as the Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX) is a new installation option of SAP NetWeaver Process Integration. It provides the connectivity capabilities of the Advanced Adapter Engine (AAE) as well as design and configuration tools (ES Repository and the Integration Directory) to set up integration scenarios that are based on the AAE. The AEX is based on AS Java alone. Therefore, it is easier to install and maintain as well as requiring less memory and data storage. More information on the AEX is available here: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/a5/f6e04bdc1d4cdbbb32fa52ccdcc419/frameset.htm]
When the required preparations to install any SAP system have been completed as per the installation and master guide, the installation can be started by initiating the sapinst file for your chosen OS and DB. Select SAP Systems>Optional Standalone Units>Advanced Adapter Engine Extended>Standard System>Advanced Adapter Engine Extended
