Demand Planning - Aggregation issue

Hi All:

I have a situation where the business needs the following scenario to work in APO. Will that be possible? Is there a standard method to implement or it is a customized solution? If so, pl. let me know.

Assuming a product group (PG) has 3 products (A,B,C). If we have a forecast of 99 at the PG level the disaggregation is equal among the three products.

Now, this is where the business requirement comes in. The business sometimes freezes this forecast qty at the top level but would change the forecast at the detailed level. So, if they change the forecast of say, B to 44, they do not want the fcst at the PG level to increase by 11 to 110. Rather they want the aggregate level fcst to be 100 but the fcst of A and C in this case to be reduce to 27 and 28. That is, freeze the total at the aggregate level and make all the adjustment at the detail level. Can anyone pl. help?

Thanks

Ryan

Hello,

Maybe fixing functionality in DP could help you to acheive this?

Suppose your MPOS have both characterisitc "Product Group" and "Product", product A, B, and C are different in "Product" but the same in "Product Group".

You have forecast 33 for each products. If you load data at "Product Group" level, you'll see 99, which is the aggregated total value of the three products.

Now you first drill down to details by "Product", then right click the cell that shows 99 (which is at 'Total' line), and select "Fix Cell(s)" in the context menu. By doing this data get fixed at the aggreagted level. Now if you make changes to a certain value at detailed line (say, change product A's value), since total is fixed, system will adjust the other unfixed lines (product B and C) to keep the data consistent. The adjustment calculation is relevant to the key figure's calculation type.

If you want to use fixing functionality on a key figure, in the planning area settings, the key figure should be set as "fixable key figure" instead of "simple key figure".

Best Regards,

Ada
