What is the purpose of query panel in the designer/universe?

Could some one explain me the purpose of query panel in the universe/designer? Is it just to find the sql structure alone?

Also please let me know the purpose of Aggregate navigation

I believe the primary purpose of the query panel is to verify the connections/filters you have defined without needing to bring up one of the reporting tools (ie. WEBI, DESKI, etc.). Can't give you any help on the Aggregate Navigation function.

As you rightly said the purpose of query panel is to check out the structure of the sql without the need of any reporting tool.

Coming to Aggregate Navigation it is very helpful in realtion ot query performance. if you need an object summarized at a particular level and that field is available with that summarization than it will choose that rather than going for a transaction table.
