Hi
I got a RFP and they say that PI is included in it. It's already developed and it's for support. I have to go through that and ask the customer querries. Can anyone help me with the questions that I need to ask regarding the scope of XI work in the project.
I mean the number of interfaces, the message flow, and things that can help me know the amount of PI work invloved. I have never done this before and I am totally clueless
Regards

Try to find out what adapter types are used. See if they are standard "out of the box" or any custom adapters developed, or 3rd party purchased ones. This might make a difference in the skill set of people supporting.
Try to get a feeling for how complex the mappings are, and what mapping type is used (PI graphical mappings, XSDs, Java, or ABAP, etc)
Lastly, get an idea of volumes and whether their J2EE environment is clustered.
Things mentioned in the other blog post area also important such as protocols used and service level requirements.
