Change in Profit Center

Hello Experts,

If user has created PR and PO with a profit center suppose X and took WBS as account assignment having profit center X. Now, user wants to change the PC to Y, he needs that system should pick PC as Y automatically and not X.

Can it be possible?

please suggest.

Hi,

Profit center in PO is determined automaically by the system. You can assign PC in material master also. System aslo check PC from Project definition.

If you want to change PC while PO creation, you can use some exit or Badi.

But can you tell me even if i go to Proj. Def. to change the PC , system is not allowing to do the same. Why?

Also, If i Have maintained PC in M Master view as X and in Proj. Defintn. PC is Y. Then why system is taking PC as Y during PR/PO instead of taking X ?

Hi,

System priority is to take PC from the cost object rather than material master, thats why it taking PC as Y in PO.

If transactional data exists for project than you cannot change the profit center in the project.
