Remove serial number profile from Sales(general plant) Material master

How do I remove the Serial No Profile assigned to a material (Sales: General/Plant--> MARC/SERNP)?

Is there a work-around?

The problem is, a user had accidentally added a serial number profile to a material and now he wants to remove it because it is preventing the delivery of the material and insisting on serial number at the time of delivery.

Question is do you have already stocks & transactions with this material & serial numbers?

1. Yes, stock is available in multiple storage locations (we have different storage locations for different purposes)

2. Transactions with this material & serial numbers: Yes, transactions have been made with material but serial number is not assigned.
