Alert Configuration: SMTP Error in SOST, Container variables not filling.

Hi All,

I have been configured in XI System following sdn and Michal's blog.ALRTCATDEF,SCOT settings have been done and When i try to test the alerts , alerts are reaching alert inbox but not to mail. And also in alert long text container variables are missing I have been requested my basis team to implement sap note 835031. What exact cause for this could any body explain me. And also Please suggest me what has to be done when i get error in SOST 'Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final) ' Do i have to follow steps mentiond in below link:

Hi,

Now i can able to recieve container variables in the IE alerts . I have been follwed up one link of sdn and they mentioned like onc e we give IP adress of mail server in SCOT we have delete the RFC destination 'CentralMonitoringServer-XIAlerts' and next time when alert has been generated then it will create automatically. But now iam recieving another problem, AE errors are not recieving as alerts could anybody hel me on this.

I have already gone through those links and did all settings even ip adress of mail server also correct but not recieving mails. Please let me know about container variables missing in alerts my basis team is saying like it is invalid sap note is there any way to find out for this?
