Hello Team

Need some calrification & advise

we are planning to install ECC6 with EHP5 on AIX7.1 with DB2 9.7 version on single physical server ( NO Virutal IP'S) for both development(SID : D10 & System number 20) & quality(SID : Q10 & System number 20) systems. And it will be running in single LPAR for development & quality systems.

please advise me how can we create the below common file systems for both development & quality to avoid file permission & installation issues.

/sapmnt/<SID>

/usr/sap/

/usr/sap/trans/

/db2/IBM

Thanks in advance & Regards

BM

Thanks Juan

Normally /usr/sap/trans should be <sid>adm & sapsys are uid and gid , for first instance installation ( dev) should not be any issue.

while doing second instance ( quality system) installation, expecting permission issue ( that also we can solve at the time of issues comes during installtion).

Please let me know how can we maintain UID after completing both installtion without any issues.pls suggest me.

Thanks , BM

They can be own by root without any problem... they should have permission 755 at least

/sapmnt/<SID> its not common...

/usr/sap/<SID> its not common either...

/usr/sap/trans/ its no problem at all as they'll both run under the same domain controller.

As per DB2 you should check if MCOD or separate DB instances are your best choice
