Folder structure and report organization best practices in Business objects

If you have any best practices regarding the report organization using the folders, can you please share with me? Currently we have one top folder per functional area (e.g. sales, marketing, finance) and the security is at the top folder level. We foresee some needs to have sub-folders within these folders and to apply different security for these sub folders.

Just wanted to know whether there is any other simpler folder structure.

We are using BO XI R3.
