Incomplete log

All,

I have defined the field "profit center" within material master as part of mandatory field for incomplete log at sales order level. I have set the status group so no delivery can be created when profit center of the material used in the sales order is missing. Seems like system is not checking for the profit center and still letting the delivery to be created even when profit center is missing.

I have confirmed that my incomplete procedure is correctly assigned to the order type i am using. Is this have to do something with the user exits where

You can use user exit USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP or USEREXIT_CHECK_VBKD in program MV45AFZB. You can also refer the thread for similar issue http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1977174

You need to assign this at item level instead of sales order type level. Hope you have already tried this.
