Kernel Upgrade 7.01 -> 7.20

Hello,

Note 1636252 describes the upgrade.

In point 3, it says that we should install SAPHOSTAGENT

In point 4.4 it tells to remove all the fiels and directories in the kernel directory.

By doing so are we going to suppress files inserted in point 3?

Hello Benoit,

Point 3 means...SAPOSCOL is no more part of Kernel as it's part of SAPHOSTAGENT package in as of release 7.20. So you have to delete saposcol that exists under /sapmnt/SID/exe or /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe inorder to use new SAPOSCOL from different path.

Point 4 means...You have to clear all existing old release of kernel files from exe directory before you extract new kernel files into exe directory.

But what is the patch of the saposcol when you use saphostagent and kernel 720?

Hello Benoit,

Please extract SAPHOSTAGENT.SAR file. You will find SAPOSCOL along with other executable like sapstartsrv. Once it's installed as guided in the attached help link, you will be able to find the patch level.

2. What is library R3SAP400?

- Yes, it is.

- This library contains the program SAPINIT. Please read the note 893215 for more details.
