SPP 4.4 on DB2 connection problems and missing documentation

HI all,

i'm trying to install a SPP server using DB2 version 9.7.4 but i'm having a lot of connection problems.

It seems that we are missing some "addendum documentation" on this kind of cofiguration.

Anyone has this kind of doc?

Thx

Enrico

Hi Enrico,

Have you tried the ANCILE Product Support Center at http://products.ancile.com?

Please read through and answer the following questions, as well as being informative to me they may also point you in direction to location of this problem.

May I know the RWD/OS/DB version?

Are the server/client located in different location?

Do you have connection problem between server and client?

Have you tried to restart the related service and test again?

Do you have the same problem before or it just happend recently?

Does the problem happen only on some client machine?

Does the problem happen only for some document?

Can you please do the following:

1. Start uPerform Client software.

2. On the problem computer, go to Tools > Options in uPerform Client

3. In the #General# section, ensure that the Logging levels (Log and

Publishing) are set to #Debug# by using the drop-down option:

4. IMPORTANT: Recreate the steps that lead to the issue with your

uPerform document.

5. To create the Sysinfo log file, Select Help > About

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

thank you for your answer. We already solved all our connection problems exactly with the Debug level of the log files.

We found that we had problems with the DB2 GUI that doesn't recognize some input. So we sent all the info by command line and it works.

After this we had some publication problems because the regional settings of both DB and apllication server was in italian instead of American. So we have changed the regional setting to American, and now everything works fine.

Thx and bye

Hi Enrico,

I'm trying to install an SPP using DB2 9.7 as well, and it seems I'm running into the same problems you did (I get the error message "Specified database user does not have access to default tablespace", even though the user has full access).

Can you specify how you managed to solve these issues?

Thanks for any help you could provide.

Best regards,

Alejandro

Hi Alejandro,

If using Database Server # IBM DB2

Install IBM DB2 server.
1. Install IBM Data Server Driver Package (DS Driver)
2. Create a Windows user account (upsInternaluser) for use with the
Glossary and assign it to the DB2Users group on the server.
3. Create a Windows user account for use with Collaboration and assign
it to the DB2Users group.
4. Create two blank databases (e.g., content and glossary).
5. You have completed the pre-install steps using an IBM DB2 server from
RWD uPerform Administration Manual.

I am also facing the same issue while installing uPerform server-Specified database user does not have access to default tablespace.

I have done the steps explained above. ,but still facing the same issue.

Can you please guide how to resolve the same.
