PI 7.0 to 7.3 Migration

Hello All,

We are considering to migrate PI 7.0 to 7.3 (Dual Stack), we have following types of interfaces. I would like to know what are the specific PI technical tasks following basis migration as PI technical resource.

- BPM, File, Http, IDoc, Mail, JDBC, JMS, Proxy and RFC.

We also use some ABAP mapping, Java mapping, XSLT mapping, RFC/JDBC Lookups, Custom Adapter Modules and UDF in message mappings.

How are the interfaces mentioned above impacted and what are the changes to be done after the migration to make sure all above type of interfaces work properly in new system? What about different mappings (ABAP, Java, XSLT, RFC/JDBC lookups, Message Mappings with UDF)?

What are the activities to deploy/redeploy update custom adapters, adapter modules?

How to deploy JDBC/JMS driver in PI 7.3?

Can anyone give details or steps on above tasks?

Thanks,

Rajan

Hi Rajan,

I fyou are using PI 7.3 Dual stack instaltion option then most of the interfaces would work as expected but deployment of java mapping, java prociex, modules and new adapters required once again on JDK 1.6.

refer below document which talks about PI 7.3 upgradation

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/2047cd8f-fa94-2e10-1f90-8f11dcf0e589

If you customer using AEX(JAVA only stack instaltion) then you need to redevelop all BPM scenarios and investmenr required on the same.

Raj

Hi,

>>>We also use some ABAP mapping, Java mapping, XSLT mapping, RFC/JDBC Lookups, Custom Adapter Modules and UDF in message mappings.

they all stay the same but:

- you need to change custom adapter module code and deploy them again (as of 7.1 the code has been changed)

- message mappings - some of the functions may work in a different way

my blog on this topic: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/18227

the rest can stay the same

>>>How to deploy JDBC/JMS driver in PI 7.3?

please check the OSS note on the same - it's the same way it's just that the name of the file got changed and you do it with JSPM

if you have any java proxies they also need to be redeployed and that's it

BTW

also have a look at my other blog on upgrade:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/18270
