Which MAXDB version for a new Content Server?

Hi All,

we are planning a new SAP Contentserver to connect all of our non-productive SAP Systems to it.

My problem at the moment is that i couldn´t find a good documentation on how to install a contentserver with a newer release of MaxDB, e.g. 7.8 or 7.9. Or, what is a good and stable release for a contentserver?

I found a lot of (a bit confusing) information about running a SAP system under MaxDB, but nothing about contentserver.

The machine we want to use for that is a VMWare server, running Windows server 2008R2, 2 CPU, 4GB Ram.

We think of creating several Databases on this server, one SDB for each SAP-system (~6) with different port nubers.

Hi Martin,

In the content server environment, you use the SAP MaxDB database with Version 7.7 or 7.8.

Hello Deepak,

thank you for your helpful answer.

I´ve downloaded the latest MaxDB (7.8.02.27) from SAP SWDC.

As i wrote a detailed and good installation manual would be nice, since there are some new options in 7.8.

(e.g. private data path(?) and i would understand a little bit what i´m doing.
