Kernel Upgrade on AS

If I have a CI and an AS, and I need to upgrade the Kernel, should I upgrade both, right ?

Hi Daniel,

Kernel has to be upgraded on all the application servers, CI as well as DB (incase of distributed env).

Difference in kernel levels might lead to transactional problems.

Do your CI and AS share the same /sapmnt/<SID/exe file system, i.e. via NFS etc ?

If they do share the /sapmnt/<SID/exe file system, then when the upgrade is done on the CI all application servers will "see" the upgraded version.The is done by SAPCPE program.
