System State + Import Queue Development

Hello Everybody,

I have a question concerning the state of the development system.

When I open the system state view in the CMS I see a certain version of my DC. How is this maintained and updated? Is this done automatically with a central build?

And in the "restore system state" view for development I see the same version, is this also done automatically?

I know that for consolidation the version here is resulting from the last assembly.

Can anyone provide me with more details on the complete system state mechanism please.
