Hi..

Our ERP System was running with ERP 6.0 EhP4 SPS 08 & We upgraded to ERP 6.0 EhP5 SPS 03

This is a dual stack installation i.e ABAP + JAVA.

Before upgrade SM51 was showing under message Types

.........Dialog, Batch, Update, Upd2, Spool, Enqueue, ICM, J2EE

After upgrade SM51 is showing under message Types

.........Dialog, Batch, Update, Upd2, Spool, Enqueue, ICM, VMC

Sounds J2EE replaced with VMC in display to confirm that it is a dual stack system. But where do these information will get documented in SAP that we can know better, this is simple, it is click to understand, but in some other screen we may not aware at all !!!

Srinivas,

The "VM container" (VMC) is a component that is integrated into the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP. It provides a java runtime environment that is compatible with J2SE 1.4. However, it is not to be confused with the SAP NetWeaver application server Java, which provides a runtime environment that is completely compatible with J2EE.

Refer to the Note 863354 - Using the "VM container" component
