couldn't retrieve BI datasource

I try to create and use BI datasource in VC following [this|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/en/48/a80b71516b35b6e10000000a42189d/frameset.htm] instructions.

I have successfully configured BI Connection in portal, and successfully run tests.

But I still have a error message "Couldn't retrieve systems" when I try to select BI Data Sources in search providers ([img|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/jaua1])

Please, suggest the cause of problem.

did you configure one BI system to be master system?

Yes, properties "BI master system" & "BI directory provider" are checked.

Error is logs:

while trying to invoke the method com.sap.ip.bi.base.service.connection.IConnectionPool.getAliases() of an object loaded from local variable 'pool'

No other additional information or stacktrace.

Hi,

I think it's the best to open a message at SAP. As the problem is caused by BI kit in VC the correct component is BW-BEX-ET-WJR-BICS.

Make sure you added VC roles to yourself in the Portal. If your using CE make sure you have roles assigned. You can only have one BI Master System. Restarting the server some times helps.

There is also one more issue

Please make sure that there are no floating aliases. It means that there are no System Aliases that are not assigned to any System (In System Management in the portal)

If so, please remove them

It happens usually, if the system was deleted without it alias

Аpparently, it was a bug.

Problem was solved by updating NW from 7.30 to 7.31 without any additional setups.

we have the same problem.

We are trying to set-up Real Time Reporting Analysis with VC as described [Here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw72/helpdata/en/a1/bde4657d1f42e3a7c698d16a699635/frameset.htm].

In order to get process and task data source information, do we need to configure communication between BPM and BW? Becasuse, if I am not wrong, in the scenario of Real Time Reporting Analysis, data should be accessed directly from CE instead of getting data from BW...
