Adding a template to the project in uperform

Hi All,

The database and the search server is installed in one system. The client is installed in a separate system.

I have created a template in the client system. When i try to create the document in the client, a pop up displays a message "Please select a project that has template assigned to it".

I tried to assign the templates to the project in the server side. But under the uperform templates link, it shows "there are no templates located on the server".

I dont see any options to assign the template to a project.

Can some one help, if you are aware of this?

Regards,

Saba

Hi, when we try to check-in a template, we are getting a successful message. However, when we try opening the template it shows as unavailable (Admin->uPerform Templates).

Hi Matthew,

I am able to publish the document from client to server. Once i "check in" the document from client, it is visible in the project of the server.

But when i try to add it to the publishing queue, the document is not displayed in the publishing queue of the server.

I have maintained the entries in the same way http://<server>:<port>;

Hi Mathew,

Many thanks for the reply....

I dont see any errors in the collabconsole and localhost log files. I have tried recreating the serach database, but still the documents were not visible in both the publishing and glossary queue.

We are using oracle database. Is there any solution to overcome this?

Hi Saba,

So publishing is failing on the server? Are you able to publish them locally?

I saw the template error once before, two years ago.

From client, to access server are you using full server name?

e.g. http://<server>:<port>;

Hi Mathew,

Many thanks for your reply. I am able to do as per the given steps.

I have created a new document and checked in to the server. There i have added to the publishing queue.

I didnt get any error messages while adding to the publishing queue. But when i checked in the publishing queue, the document was not visible there.

Do i have to perform some other steps, for making it visible in the publishing queue?

Hi Saba,

This may be an issue with the user used to connect to the Glossary Database or wrong NLS settings if you are using Oracle.

Do you receive any errors in Collabconsole.txt or Server Error log file?

Hi Saba,

1. You need to create a local template first.

Please open the uPerform client and goto:

File > New

At the right, please choose "template".

Then you should be able to create a new template.

2. After that, you need to check in this template to the server.

Please open the template and goto :

File > Check in > Select the newly created template.

3. Click Administration on the left menu.

4. Click Server Administration in the Administration area.

5. Click uPerform Templates in the Server Administration area.

6. Click on the name of the template to be assigned to the project.

7. Click Assign Template on the left menu.

8. Select the checkbox next to the desired project(s) in the Assign

[Template Name].udt window. Optionally, to assign a template to all projects in the list,

click (select or unselect all).

Hope this helps,

Kind Regards,

Matthew
