Call BAPI from Oracle forms 6i

Hi,

We're trying to access a SAP BAPI from within Oracle Forms 6i to retrieve data into one of our applications. I've heard rumours of an OLE object, Java classes and Oracle Adaptors, has anyone done this before and could you provide some advice/insight into how best to do this ?

Not done from within Oracle Forms but I do it from Java all the time. JCo is what it is called.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response! Do you mean use the JCo libraries and calls as an intermediary between oracle forms and SAP? I've also dicsovered that there are a whole host of OLE objects that can be imported through oracle forms, could they be used instead?

Its a little bit of a gray area unfortunately (at the mo!!)

Thanks in advance

Daniel

In your response you state that you use JCo as the method in which to connect to SAP as opposed to connecting from Oracle forms.

Is it possible to use JCo to connect to a R/3 system. Also, have you got any example code for calling a BAPI.

Regards

Daniel.
