connection to an Ms-sql external db by mean of jdbc drivers...

dears

I should make available a connection between a BI system (abap+java), based on nw 702 , Unix/Oracle 102, with an external (non Sap) Ms-Sql 2005 database.

I read somewhere this should be possible using Jdbc drivers, and I'm looking for a usable step-by-step procedure .

Any advise ?

best regards

Hi Roberto,

But if I would be doing it, I would have gone simply to RSA1 -> Source system -> DB connect

and would have followed the wizard and see if this works for me or not

thanks , very interesting but unfortunately I cannot use DBCON

As the Sap sistem is on Unix, I cannot copy the dlls for Ms-Sql under unix.

I'm going to get throught the several Oss-Notes.....hope to find something usefull.
