Hi all,

LOT creation during STO

The sales returns scenario is done using the STO process in SD module using delivery type NL. The requirement is that when the material arrives to the plant, a quality lot should be generated. The search in the previous threads gives the solution of 01 and 08.But in case of sales returns I require a lot other than '08' type as the activation of '08' inspection type creates lot within the plant also which is not required.

SAP allows you to use the 05 inspection type to have stock controlled inspection lots for customer returns.

Returns delivery u2013 06 vs. 05 inspection type

Inspection type 05 is a stock relevant inspection type. Standard SAP uses 06, a non-stock relevant inspection type.

To use 05 you must assign the 05 inspection type to the delivery item in configuration.

QM>Quality Inspection>Inspection Lot Creation-->Inspection at Shipping

Then select "Assign inspection lot origin to Delivery type"

For returns you will set LR to 05.

Depending on how Customizing for Sales is configured (the movement type is configured in the step Define Schedule Line Category), the delivery is posted to the following stock:

Blocked stock returns (non-valuated, not unrestricted-use) (movement type 651)

Unrestricted-use stock (movement type 653)

Quality inspection stock (movement type 655)

Blocked stock (movement type 657)

The problem you have is you are using NL which is the generic stcok transport delivery type. I would consider creating a custom delivery type to be used for these like ZL. Try using that and do the config as soon above for ZL. You must then use ZL for these returns. Once you have your config set up, use the 655 to post to quality stock with an 05 inspection lot.

What process do you follow for STO.

Is it mvt type 311 or 101??

There can be atenrative for 08 or 01 by copying the mvt type to Z01 or Z08 and activating same in Material master of the return material.

Hi how r u receiving the material in the plant. IF it is through 101 then you can activate 01 inspection lot and the system will genrate 01 inspection for the material if you are using 651 then you can activate inspection type 06 system will create inspection lot of 06 type

Material is received into the plant using 101.And whether 06 inspection type will support inventory control.

You can deactivate QM mvt for 311 mvt in OMJJ.

What you can do is when you are transfering material from storage lcoation to storage location then lot of 08 will not be created.

hi,

it is not the correct way to deactivate the QM posting tick in Std 311or 101, its better to customize the 311 or 101in some ZXX and use them during posting if u don't want any lot with STO process and if u want lot then activate 05 against return w.r.t. Delivery for inventory control.
