DB13 SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE failed for backup reason

Dear Gurus,

I am facing error during DB13 since passed few days during backup and update statistics .SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE failed for BRCONNECT - Reason: program_start_error: For More Information, See SYS

cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE..

Please do need full.

Hi,

Do you have Standalone gateway on your server ?

You can try Go to the db13 -> goto -> backend configuration

And change background or application server to the database server (where DB physically resides)

If you Database is on another host then SAPXPG_DBDEST_<dbhost> or <virtual_dbhost> (a TCP/IP connection) will play an important role for executing SAPXPG command.

1) Install a Gateway instance on the DB server

2) Mention the Gateway hostname and service ( sapgwxx) in the RFC destination SAPXPG_DBDEST_<DBHOST> using SM59.

Also check the permission of the SAPXPG file.

Also please try to restart the gateway, it worked for me and I am able to run DB20 Stats for the table. I initially got the error while running on a RAC environment, now able to run status.

Hello snehal,

Check which user is being used while running BRTOOLS.

This user needs to have DIR_LIBRARY=/usr/sap/KRP/SYS/exe/run environment variable.

Along with the user needs to have execution access to BRTOOLS. Sometimes the user will not access to run at OS level.

Please verify this and post your findings.

Now Update statistics runs perfectly and during backup it gives error "0005 Error during processing"

Access is denied.
