data foundation and business layer scope

Hello,

I have several doubts about the scope of data foundations and business layer comparing with Data warehouse and DataMarts concepts.

Bearing in mind that, with te new version of SAP BO 4.0, we can create several busines layer from one data foundation,

Should we create one data foundation for the whole data warehouse and one business layer for each datamart?

or would it be better solution create one data foundation for each datamart?

Hi,

Better to segmentise your Foundations by business requirement / mart / cube, rather than doing a monolythic 'one size fits all' abstraction .

Much easier for security and maintenance too.
