We have Business Requirement, i.e Generating statistical forecast in DP using UOM other than defined for Planning area.

Please share your experinces & any advice's welcome

Why would you need this?

Do you want to forecast for different materials/locations using different UoM?

I don't think that this is possible.

You could only change the display of UoM in the planning view by maintaining settings of KFs while defining the planning area. Or just for display purpose, you could change the UoM when you are in interactive planning view.

If you want to use some UoM in forecasting, but your history is maintained in some other UoM, either do the UoM conversion in BW routines in BW or in APO while loading to infocubes. Have your planning area in the UoM that you want for DP forecasting, and then simply load the data from cube to the planning area in this UoM.
