request in status import for a long time

Former Member

Hello!!!

*SAP configuration*

*microsoft cluster with one dilog instance installed on stand alone server.*

*Central instance installed on cluster node on disk c:\*

During prepare to upgrade ECC6.0 to ehp4 I stoped dialog instance.(test isolation central istance)

After that import does not work(Requests in import queue in status import for a long time)

If i start dialog instance the import work properly.

what i did to resolve this problem

1. rescheduled rddimpdp

2. check permission on the file level

3. When the request in status import, the job rddimpdp not started. I see in sm37 job only with released status. If i manually start this job the request will be imported.

Hi,

Try this options:

1. Login to 000 client and run a report RDDNEWPP from SE38

2. Check SAP Note 449270

Please update message with result

Thank you for your answer!

1. Haw i can determine i have a central profile directory or maintain

local directories on each machine? I have DEFAULT.PF local and on the shared disk.

If i right understand according sap note

i need to add string to my transport profile

QUA/system_pf=
alice-qua\sapmnt\QUA\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PF

#TMS:0006:DOMAIN_PRD

  • 000 000 SAPSYS F3 V Error 2 for write/read access to a file. File = C:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS\global\501JOBLG\0001X12163800X3208*

I know msg server can move from one node to another. "C:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS\global\" where it exists physically ? it should be part of msg server group.

Do you have message server group in the server where import is running?

Otherwise, you need to set your environment variable SAPEXE as
sapmsg<server>\sapmnt\QUA\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64 and try again.

Thanks,

Arjun

1."C:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS\global\" One of the cluster node. Disk C:\ is local disk and not part of message server. Disc c:\ contain only central instance. MSG Server is installed on other cluster disk.

2. What is it message server group? Haw can i check it? During the installation i run report to change TMSADM_QUA.DOMAIN_PRD for using msg server. May be i don't understand.

Its confusing !

if C drive is cluster drive, how can it be local drive ? Cluster drive suppose to failover between the nodes. Its better to maintain drives with UNIQUE letters to avoid confusion.

1). In the Windows server, do you have FailOver Cluster Management Tool ? If yes, please check what is the drive assigned to Msg Server Group.

2). On what drive Message Server is installed. Check that drive, it should have the SYS\global directory not the CI server.

3). Check your profile and ENV variables and correct it.

Arjun

Ok It is my mistake in explanation.

I try to explain it again

I have two cluster server

Node 1(name ClustErpPrd)

Local disk c:\

Cluster disk G\,.....(offline)

Node 2(name ClustErpQUA)

Local disk c:\ Central Instance is installed localy.

Cluster disk G\,.....(Current owner)

Alice-qua- cluster network name(current owner)

msg server cluster resource(Current owner) contain msg server

enq server cluster recourse(Current owner) contain enq server

I agree with you that i have wrong configuration parameter. What kind of parameter i need to check?

1). Check the Environment Variable SAPMNT, if its pointing to C drive make it G drive or shared one like below.

SAPMNT -
msgservername\sapmnt or G:\usr\sap\QUA

2). Make sure Msg Server in FailOver cluster management has shared like below

g:\

sapmnt

saploc

Try to run a simple background job, if it completes successfully then your import should work fine.

Arjun

Hello!

I have same misunderstanding.

System log has a lot of errors same.

10:58:17 DIA 001 000 SAPSYS F3 V Error 2 for write/read access to a file. File = C:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS\global\501JOBLG\0001X10165100X87694

On the file level this folder does not contain this file. But this file exists with path

G:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS\global\501JOBLG

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed reply. I don't see any wrong in default and env. However, can you please check values of below parameters in ASCS profile. It suppose to show G drive like below

DIR_INSTALL = G:\usr\sap\QUA\SYS

DIR_INSTANCE = G:\usr\sap\QUA\ASCS01

Restart the system after setting the values. if you set the new ENV values, restart the server and try again.

Hi,

I am not sure this will solve your problem. But please do try in your end as well

I had the same problem in my cluster environment (Windows 2008 R2 , SQL and ECC 6 ), When I import the request this will keep on running but no status, but in the logs it stated very clearly the event job cannot be started and hence the job was not running. (Even I tried to RDDNEWPP in 000 client - but no luck)

The below 2 activities fixed my problem

1. SYSTEM_PF =
rhoeccsap\sapmnt\ECP\SYS\profile\DEFAULT.PFL (Ensure that there are no security problem in this folder)

2. Default. PFL was in the lower case and I am not sure, how this happened. But when I chaged the filename from defaul.pfl to DEFAULT.PFL (This solution was mentioned in the SAP notes - Its very common issue, but this is first time for me)

If possible try out this two options as well - Ensure that SAPEVT jobs are triggering (check it out in work folder)

Vijay

Hi,

Where is your message server on CI or DI ? Make sure Msg server is on CI and try again.

Thanks,

Arjun
