Thanks for anwsering my question. I am new to PI and a project, I was given a list of data for creating a data type. There are one data field name contains two words, separated by space, after I entered into PI, the name field turn to red, and it won't let me activate the data type, I am not 100% sure, want to check with the PI experts here
Hello,
Quoting the W3C specification for XML tags
XML Naming Rules
XML elements must follow these naming rules:
-Names can contain letters, numbers, and other characters
-Names cannot start with a number or punctuation character
-Names cannot start with the letters xml (or XML, or Xml, etc)
-Names cannot contain spaces
-Any name can be used, no words are reserved.
Item 4 is your answer, for more information, refer to this link

Hope this helps,
Mark
