HANA certification

Hi all,

I have a SAP BI background and would like to take my HANA certification exam sometime in the near future. Can you please tell what SAP training and other additional material needs to be covered for this preparation? Also, are there any HANA sandboxes available on monthly subscription basis or along those lines?

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks all for sharing your experience and offering valuable tips for the HANA certification.

I passed the SAP HANA certification last week.

The Sandbox access was very useful esp. the Modeling part. I would like to add that answering the reporting section needs some exposure to SAP BusinessObjects tools apart from what you learn in TZHANA or TZH300. All the guides that Tansu Aksu has listed in his post and tips by Chandra Kumar were very useful too.

Dear All

I would like to ask a question and hope to get the answer from you. I am BI consultant on Microsoft technologies however I am interested to shift my career and move to SAP. I have a chance to work on HANA therefore I want to study and get certified on the technology. my question is how difficult it is for someone like me to do this step. do I need to have past SAP experience to be able to hit the ground and work on SAP?

The other question is to clear the exam do I need to have hands on experience on Hana? I have tried to use the sandbox solution but with no luck to get access. I used the www.experiencesaphana.com but this site does not give you the feeling of Hana it gives only the result using BO Explorer.

Appreciate your input

Hello

Here are the training opportunites; https://training.sap.com/bundles/product/sap-hana

I did attend to a TZHANA training in late August, and in the exam I saw that 10-15% is new content,

I recommend you to read the followings

http://help.sap.com/hana/hana1_model_en.pdf

http://help.sap.com/hana/hana1_sec_en.pdf

http://help.sap.com/hana/hana1_tom_en.pdf

http://help.sap.com/hana/H1_SP3_info_comp_en.pdf

Although I passed the exam, I would've done better if i didn't ignore some very technical things on connection types, folder names where the objects were stored etc..

Goodluck

Hi

You can have a look at the below link, where in you will get answers to all your questions.

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/in-memory?rid=/webcontent/uuid/c022341c-5ed1-2e10-0b98-9b6a3314dd25

Coming to certification, if you want to take it contains 80 questions and 180 mins time.

Just explore the docs what ever there in the above link. you will get lot of information about HANA.

Hi There

Having passed the exam, just a few tips, the exam context is on HANA SP03, and you will need to understand the various tools and there uses when connecting to HANA. Which tool to do what, etc. Why would you use Explorer, or Xcelsuis?

In terms of Data Provisioning, this topic is covered extensively so you will need to understand Data Services and LT Replication.

The ZHANA course is an excellent introduction and provides the necessary insight to the exam and its topics.

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Hi Daniel,

Taking the ZHANA course and having an understanding for various tools such as Explorer/XCelsius, Data Services will suffice. Or do we need to dig deeper than that?

Thanks.

Hi

The book name is TZHANA. we have few other books RHANA and OHA10. TZHANA will be sufficient to clear the exam as HANA Associate.

Hi

last week i cleared the exam. Since its Associate Certification, You will not required to go deep into Portal or SAP Notes.

However, You need to understand the base document TZHANA course material.

Below is my few tips.

1)Dataprovisiong options

-Comparision of DS/SLT (including terms NEAR ZERO DOWNTIME Etc)

2)Recovery backup

Why and when to use savepoint/logvolume etc

3)Models

Role of SYS_REPO and schemas, whats possible in System user and more detail about Attribute view etc

Priveleges & including best practises

All above topics are explained well in TZHANA...taking course will help you more.
