BAM implementation with SAP PI

Hi BPM/BAM experts,

My client wants to implement BAM for better monitoring and error tracing. We are on PI 7.0 and it is an automobile industry.

So I have a few questions about it.

1. Can the end users without SAP (ECC/ERP/XI/PI) knowledge benifit from it. (or actually use it themselves)

2. Is there a portal page that can be implemented where the end users can login and see (monitor) the message flow through various components?

3. As BAM is implemented with BPM, how can end users use it and where can they monitor these messages? Or is it only through the alert emails they receive? or through the reports they get from SAP BI reports? (by the workflow logs that we push from SAP PI)

4. How easy or time consuming is this to implement? (considering a medium to complex BPM)

Thanks in advance.

Ramesh.

Thanks Michal.

So from my understaiding, we need a seperate user interface (a portal page or a dashboard) to publish the workflow logs and any other high level monitoring if a non-SAP user wants to use it (apart from getting alert emails), am I correct?

Kind regards,

Ramesh.

this is a good presentation that takes you thru BAM. Even though this is based on 7.1, the concept remains the same in 7.0 also
