No Seasonality when using Seasonal Linear Regression (35) in background

Hi All,

I have an issue in that when we execute Seasonal Linear Regression (35) interactively, it produces a forecast with seasonality. However if we run Seasonal Linear Regression as part of the background jobs, it produces a straight line with no seasonality. Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks

Mark

Hello,

Please check the below points:

1)Are you using the same forecast profile in foreground and background?

If in the background job, you did not set to always use the profile specified for background job, it will first try to retreive forecast profile from the assignment in /sapapo/msdp_fcst2 if there's any. You can check the spool file for details of each CVCs.

2)Are you running background job at the same aggregate level as in the foreground?

The processed CVCs in the background (from the spool file) should be the same as the drill down level when we run forecast in foreground.

3)Are you using then same historical data in foreground and background?

Some historical data may be calculated by macros in foreground. Please make sure the historical data is populated correctly in background also.

For one particular CVC, you can also check the detailed information in spool file (SM37) or in /sapapo/mc8k (if you specified application log in /sapapo/mc8e). The forecast message should be the same as populated in foreground forecast result's 'Message' tab.

Hope you can find out the reason by yourself.

Best Regards,

Ada
