Hello All,
We are planning to integrate our 3rd party system with our SAP system to interface IDocs and our 3rd party informed us that
they want to use ESB as middlewear , If this is the case do we need to use both ESB and PI or only ESB ?
Please also let me know the details of ESB.
Thanks in advance
ESB is a generic terminology. You can get its definition and details on google.
PI is still getting evolved as ESB. If you have integration with SAP landscape, it would be recommended to use PI. If however, your landscape already have some other middleware and you have just one SAP system to be used for communication in long run, you may use that other middleware as the ESB as well.

Dear Saplog
Give this defination to your client:
An enterprise service bus (ESB) is a software architecture model used for designing and implementing the interaction and communication between mutually interacting software applications
and tell him SAP PI fits in this description

I strongly vote for SAP PI. Use PI for your idoc integration. PI is SAP's official Middleware product.

Hi,
PI it self ESB, so go for PI middleware it fulfills your requirement.
