SAP Management console SID missing

Former Member

Hi,

After restart the operating system, SAP SID is missing in SAP Management console.

Below are the details and steps I tried,

1. Starting the SAP System from the command line u2013 I got the following

message u201CSTARTSAP Continues u2026u201D

2. Oracle is up and running (Can able to start and stop oracle )

3. R3trans -d return code is "000"

4. Installed latest SAP Managent console from "SAP MMC 7.20 -> Windows Server on IA32 32bit"

6. Downloaded and install "NTSCMGR" from "Note 618053 - Download Location for NTSCMGR.EXE".

7. I have checked these note:: 82751 and 0000142100.

When i try adding servie using sapstartsrv.exe -t under /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/uc/NT1386 am getting the below message

"Cannot install service

Create Service failed:421

The acount name is invalid or does not exist, or the password is invalid for the account name specified"

Please advice on below points,

1. How to add a SAP service in services.msc (SAP<SID>_<NR>)

2. What I have to do bring back the instance in the SAPMMC and continue with my old configuration

System Environment :: This is 32bit IDES server (ECC 6.0 / Oracle 10g) sits in windows server 2k3 service pack 2

Thanks, Ganesh

Which account name you are providing ?

check that account name is existed or not?

check SIDadm user and SAPSeviceSID existed or not ?

Thanks

I tried both users (SIDadm and SAPService<SID>) , however output remains the same.

I have changed the password for both the users and tried aswell, but no luck.

Thanks, Ganesh

Hello Ganesh,

Please check as other contributors are asking so... and I would like you to tell me if you are using the Virtual Host Installation.?

Also while creating the service.. issue the below command.. and user should be SIDadm.

ntscmgr.exe install SAP<SAPSID>_<instance_number> -b <path_to_sapstartsrv>\sapstartsrv.exe -p pf=<path_to_startprofile>\start_profile>

Note: For the binary path (-b <path_to_executable>) do not use UNC paths (
host\share\...), but rather absolute paths (c:\...\...).

Use the SAP tool NTSCMGR. EXE to call up the status of an SAP service and to uninstall or install SAP services. Note with service new installations that, before starting, you must assign a corresponding SAP user for the service with whom the service is started ('Control Panel -> Services -> Startup -> Log on As This Account -> <SID>ADM or SAPService<SID>').

PY

Hi Ganesh,

Is it exist, before you restarted the system? TCP 5xx13 may be allocated by another resource? Check the allocated ports by netstat, first.

If you are sure that it is not allocate by another process, drop the service and create it by typing "sapstartsrv" to the console and fill the incoming popup entires.

Hi Orkun,

command netstat is not working,

I have checked in services file under \system32\drivers\etc\ TCP 5XX13 is not there. below are the three ports available in 5XX range

dccm - 5679/tcp

ms-licensing - 5720/tcp

ms - licensing - 5720/udp

Thanks

Hi,

Find "netstat" command under directory "windows\system32" on the another host and paste it

You need to be sure the port is not allocated by another process first, before an operational work at the OS level.
