Hello Gurus
Im having a weird situation over here with my queries created over BI content info cubes.Ive gone through all the threads related to my issue and ive tried more or less all the solutions specified. I hope i would get a different solution than what has been stated in other threads. Im able to see the cube under the $INFOCUBE but i'm unable to see my queries created under the OLAP folder which is usually above the $INFOCUBE. Can you please help me out as im struck since a while and havent been able to move further. and the funny thing is im able to see some BI content queries created over other infocubes...but why mine?????
my system details:
SAP BW 7.30 SP5
SAP BI 4.0 SP2
Hi,
Have the BEX Queries been saved with the property "Allow external access" ?
Which Client Tool is displaying this problem? Universe Designer? Information Design Tool ? WebIntelligence? etc
also, where are you creating your OLAP connection? CMC or IDT ?
Which authentication type are you using? i.e Prompt is OK for Analysis, but WebI/CR require 'named' or 'sso'

H

hey henry
Bex queries have been saved with "allow external access".
Universe designer is where we are facing the problem.
Im trying to to create a connection on Universe designer.
authentication: SAP
im not concerned about webi at this point as i first need to see the bex query to create my universe....

Hi,
It's almost certainly a rights issue, you probably have permissions to read/write parts of the infoarea/infocube/catalog but not all.
Try with the connection hard-coded with SAP_ALL profile, and test again

p.s. also you don't mention which Patch you are using? Patch2.11 is available
Sorry, Patch2.0 doesn't mean anything to me.. do you mean it is a 'plain' SP02 build?
If so, I would strongly recommend that you adopt Patch2.10 or higher (2.11), and re-test.
For what it's worth, this BI 4.0 product went General Availability with Patch2.5 so that is really the minumum supported version.

H
Hey Henry
Yes it is Sp02. Im sorry if my answer is little confusing. I asked my basis team on which patch level are we?? he said that he tried to upgrade the patch to 2.11 but there has been some problem. so rolled back to the initial setup and currently has plans only to upgrade to SP03.

OK.
For information, SP03 is now called "Feature Pack 03" and registration for its Ramp Up starts end-Q1. This means it won't be signed-off for Productive use until much after that.
It's very much in your interest to patch ASAP, because our Support engineers will push-back the moment you state SP02, as that version does not benefit from the 7+ months of corrections we have been issuing every 3 weeks!

H
hey henry
many thanks for your info. If there is no other solution other than mandated upgrade to pathc level 2.11, i think we will have to do that. Other than that are there any other troubleshooting steps that can be performed in BW other than....extrenal access to query???? coz i think i have done what needs to be done at the query level. but please lte me know if i missed anything else...your help is greatly appreciated. !!!
regards
Deepak
