Finally, I was successfully able to download and configure Netweaver Trial on Windows and MMC successfully starts NSP and the db. The light are all green, so to speak. However, when I logon from SAP GUI, the passwords don't work. Also to let you know that I am using SAP GUI from the same server where Netweaver is running. I use hostname, or 127.0.0.1 , the passwords I specified when I configured Netweaver server doesn't work.
Please help, I am obviously new to this.

Got it! the username is BCUSER and the password is abcd1234
One of the posters on another fora misled by writing a different passwd.
