Prevent Delivery creation if Stock does not exist (MTO Scenario)

Hi Gurus,

I am in a project with MTO scenario. The customer has the below requirement:-

1) When creating sales order the system should always confirm the stock in the Schedule Line although the stock does not exist.

2) When creating delivery against a sales order the system should not allow the user to create a delivery if the stock does not exist for that order (special stock)

Would appreciate on helping me to achieve this.

1) When creating sales order the system should always confirm the stock in the Schedule Line although the stock does not exist.

In MRP 2 view, the procurement type needs to be maintained as E - inhouse production and in the same view under scheduling maintain in house production time and GR processing time. Then in OVZ9, for the availability check group (MRP3 view- availability check field) and check rule A-SD order, make sure check without RLT box must be unchecked.

By this way the system will confirm the quantity in sales order.

2) When creating delivery against a sales order the system should not allow the user to create a delivery if the stock does not exist for that order (special stock)

In t.code 0VLP (Zero VLP), for the item category, maintain value B or C, in the field Check quantity 0.

Hi Shiva,

The scenario here involves sub contracting & In house hence we are using "X" as the Procurement type. Also since this involves MTO scenario we are using Avail Check as "02" and Checking Rule as "AE". For this combination we have not set the RLT checkbox.

we are using "X" as the Procurement type.

In this case apart from maintaining in house production time and GR processing time, you can also main replenishment time in MRP3 view. This will take care of external procurement. Discuss with your MM and PP experts on this.

we are using Avail Check as "02" and Checking Rule as "AE"

This is fine, still the field RLT is unchecked, then it will take replenishment time from material master and confirm the sales order.

You do not activate ATP check in sales order, and DO activate it in the delivery.

Hope you are using 20 strategy for your make-to-order strategy.

Try with 40 strategy and share your feedback.

Hi JP,

We are using Stratergy Group 25 (MTO and Configurable material). Since we have variant scenario. Hence we will not be able to use 40.
